Windows 10

On January 14, 2020, Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7. This means machines will stop receiving patches and security updates – which will mean many companies will fall foul of regulations like PIPEDA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOX, to name a few.
We pride ourselves in delivering proactive, reliable technology solutions.
The buzz from Microsoft around Windows 10 is well-deserved.
It’s faster, more secure, and it’s a productivity machine. Simply put, it’s a wonderful thing. But the superiority of Windows 10 isn’t the biggest reason to upgrade your Windows 7 machines now. Falling behind on patches and security updates can also result in a major risk of ransomware – out-of-date software can cause serious problems, hardship and pain for your organization. Read on for the real story…

Minimize Disruption & Reduce Costs
Working on a lot of machines at one time allows us to be more efficient when replacing your computers, which is much cheaper for you. Additionally, when multiple machines are replaced at the same time, the project happens faster and there is less disruption to your office – win-win!

Avoid Downtime & Long Lead Times
Your Service Delivery Manager will have regular meetings. There are only so many hours in a day, and there are way more machines to be replaced than there is time to do it in. Waiting until the last minute will just mean missed deadlines, and work spilling over. It will also mean that once you decide to upgrade, getting and installing new hardware will take much longer than intended.
We are asking for you to schedule your upgrade now for a seamless, cost effective transition.

COMPUTER PERFORMANCE: The computer needs to be performing perfectly, not running slow or low on resources.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 10 has higher performance requirements than Windows 7, so some machines may need hardware upgrades to run properly. We’re happy to help you work out which machines meet the requirements and which we recommend replacing. If you’re interested, here are the minimum system requirements from Microsoft.
HARDWARE AGE: Generally, the computer should be relatively new, or have plenty of life left in it. Industry best practices recommend replacing hardware every 5 years or so. If the computer is less than 2.5 years old, it may be up to spec now, or may need minor hardware upgrades. Computers purchased after November 2016 might even have a Windows 10 license already.
